Arm lift
Aging or rapid loss of weight may lead to unattractive, saggy skin in the area of upper arms.

Liposuction is not suitable for the aesthetic treatment of arms, if the skin of the arms lacks flexibility and is considerably loose. The skin lacks its original ability to flexibly respond to the decreased volume of adipose tissue underneath, and the healing may be associated with the formation of unevenness, dimples and folds.

In such cases, we recommend removal of not only of the excess fat tissue, but also of the corresponding excess skin in a procedure known as the arm lift.

During the procedure, an incision is made in the longitudinal direction on the inner part of the arm and the  saggy and loose skin is removed from the inner arm area. If a major intervention is performed and a heavy contusion of tissues is expected in the area operated on, the surgeon will insert drains to remove blood and tissue secretions for approximately 24 hours after the surgery. The surgery is performed under general anaesthesia and takes approximately 2 hours.

After the intervention, a compressive dressing is applied in the form of an elastic bandage or special flexible garment. This garment is required for perfect and even healing of the separated skin to the base and it is therefore necessary to wear this garment day and night for the subsequent 4 to 6 weeks.

Summary:
  • Duration of the procedure: 2 hours
  • Type of anaesthesia: General
  • Stay at the clinic: One day
  • Recommended stay in Prague: At least 5 days after the surgery
  • Suture removal: 10 to 12 days after the surgery or absorbable sutures
  • Final effect: 2 to 3 months
